The Last Word With The Cultured Gamers

Alright so in celebration of the countdown on www.smashbros.com I’m going to add to the rumor mill, and come up with my own character list. In no way would this be a completely list… 40 characters is going to be too hard for me to complete.

So let me start off with what we know:

We know that Mario, Link, Kirby, pikachu, and fox will be returning without a doubt.

We also know that some of the new characters include: Zero Suit Samus, Pit, Metaknight, solid snake and wario.

So I think most of the melee characters are returning, with the exception of Mr.Game & Watch, Ice Climbers and young link (since its pretty much already been confirmed.)

Also, it would be in a very close realm of possibility to see baby bowser jr, Cell-shaded link and riley. (also confirmed in an interview with sakurai a long time ago.)

Now for my list of possible smash characters:

Sonic- I believe Mario and Sonic has confirmed that Sega is willing to give Nintendo the Sonic license to put in their games.

Shadow or Knuckles – Every Smash character has his counter part (fox and falco, Captain Falcon and Ganondorf etc.)(plus this might be furhter proven by the fact Sakurai said he wanted to add 2 or 3 more 3rd party characters to the game.)

Birdo- She has appeared in Mario tennis and Mario Kart double dash… it wouldn’t be that far of a reach to include her.

Captain Olimar and Louie- 2 of Miyamoto’s newest Characters… I really couldn’t see brawl without their inclusion. I could see them working a little like the ice climbers did in Melee.
